11 Must-Hear New Albums: Tortoise, Daniel Caesar, & More

This year, Daniel Caesar hasn’t slowed down for even a moment.

While teaming up behind the scenes for Swag with Justin Bieber, and showing up on Blood Orange’s fresh release, Daniel Caesar seems to be everywhere lately. His album, Son of Spergy, crams in an all-star bunch—Rex Orange County, Yebba, Sampha, Bon Iver, Mustafa, Devonté Hynes, and Clairo, all popping up with him. Tracks like “Have a Baby (With Me),” “Call on Me,” and a collab with Bon Iver called “Moon” hit the internet first, giving everyone something to buzz about.

Fans think it’s wild how many cool artists Caesar brought together on just one project.

You can listen to these new songs on basically every streaming thing: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal. Or buy it on Rough Trade—even if you totally forgot how to use CDs. Sometimes even the best music feels better pressed on something you can hold… oops, was that off topic?

Lily Allen: West End Girl [BMG]

After taking time away to become a podcast host and act in West End plays (she even snagged an Olivier Award nom), Lily Allen is jumping back into music with her album West End Girl, breaking a seven-year gap since No Shame. Her December 2024 recording sessions created songs she says are “vulnerable in a way that my music perhaps hasn’t been before.” Allen talked about writing these tracks with Blue May and working with Seb Chew and Kito on producing the record. She added, “I’ve tried to document my life in a new city and the events that led me to where I am in my life now.”
