Sean Combs: The Reckoning is dropping on Netflix really soon, on December 2, and it’s got four one-hour episodes.
The show, which has been in progress for a while, will dig deep into Diddy’s story with fresh interviews from people who used to be close to him, but Netflix hasn’t revealed who’s talking or what kind of secrets they’ll spill this time around. Alexandria Stapleton is the director running the show, and 50 Cent acts as the executive producer, making things a bit extra unpredictable. In a chat about the project, 50 Cent explained, “I’m grateful to everyone who came forward and trusted us with their stories, and proud to have Alexandria Stapleton as the director on the project to bring this important story to the screen.” The vibes from the team seem authentic, but we’ve definitely seen surprises like this explode online before.
Stapleton shared her perspective by saying, “This isn’t just about the story of Sean Combs or the story of Cassie, or the story of any of the victims, or the allegations against him, or the trial. Ultimately, this story is a mirror [reflecting us] as the public, and what we are saying when we put our celebrities on such a high pedestal. I hope [this documentary] is a wake-up call for how we idolize people, and to understand that everybody is a human being.”
Fans sometimes feel weird when someone famous is in big trouble, and I do too.
Diddy is not only spending more than four years locked up right now for two counts tied to prostitution, but more stuff keeps popping up. He’s got a handful of ongoing legal battles and the Los Angeles County sheriff’s department just started checking out some new sexual battery accusations. Sometimes life seems like a movie you can’t pause or mute.
