Last night, Alex G and his band played “Afterlife” from Headlights on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert for the very first time on TV.
Just a week ago, Alex G dropped Headlights, his first album with a major label, and before that, the video for “June Guitar” came out, which Zev Magasis directed. He’s about to hit the road across North America with Nilüfer Yanya starting in September, and when that’s over, he’ll be off to Europe for more shows until November. Sometimes, tour schedules make me dizzy just thinking about them.
Fans really love seeing artists perform new songs live for the first time.
If you want to know more about Alex G, there’s a feature by Anna Gaca called “The (Real) Alex G.”
Correction: At first, this story said Alex G played “Headlights” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, but actually, he performed “Afterlife.”
