Barack Obama 2024 Summer Playlist: Charli XCX, Tems, 2Pac, Nick Drake

Barack Obama has unveiled his favorite summer songs for 2024.

The list features high-energy tracks like Charli XCX’s “365” and Tommy Richman’s hit “Million Dollar Baby,” alongside classics such as 2Pac’s “How Do U Want It” and Nick Drake’s “One of These Things First.” Other artists on the playlist include Billie Eilish, Shaboozey, Tems, Bonny Light Horseman, Beyoncé, Pharoah Sanders, Bad Bunny, Samara Joy, and Charles Mingus.

“As summer comes to a close, I wanted to share some tunes I’ve been enjoying lately – my playlists always have a bit of everything,” Obama mentioned. “Hope you discover something new to love!”

For years now, Obama has been sharing his top picks in books, music, and movies twice annually. Last year’s list boasted tracks by Big Thief, Mitski, Beyoncé, and Megan Thee Stallion. The previous year highlighted SZA, Rosalía, Maggie Rogers, and Kendrick Lamar.

During an interview with Hasan Minhaj last year, Obama emphasized that he personally curates these playlists: “People seem to think I have some young intern picking these tracks,” he said. “Nope! It’s all on my iPad.”
