Beth Gibbons of Portishead Releases New Song Lost Changes Video

Beth Gibbons has unveiled a new song from her solo album Lives Outgrown.

The track, titled “Lost Changes,” is accompanied by a video directed by photographer Juno Calypso, marking her first time in the director’s chair. You can watch it below before the album drops on May 17.

According to an album press release, Lives Outgrown was produced by James Ford and took ten years to complete. This release follows 16 years after Portishead’s last album, Third. During this gap, Beth worked on various projects: she appeared on Kendrick Lamar’s “Mother I Sober,” collaborated with JJ Doom, covered Black Sabbath with a metal band, and contributed a song called “Prospera’s Coda” for a film adaptation of The Tempest.

I think it’s really cool how artists can work across so many different genres.

It’s fascinating how long some albums take to come together. Beth’s decade-long effort with James Ford shows great dedication and patience.
