Bill Callahan, Noah Cyrus Join Everything Is Recorded on New Song

Richard Russell’s project, Everything Is Recorded, brought together Bill Callahan and Noah Cyrus for an unexpected duet.

The collaboration began when Russell asked Callahan who he’d like to write a song for during some recording sessions. Callahan picked Noah Cyrus, Miley’s sister, leading to the creation of “Porcupine Tattoo.” The track combines Callahan’s demo vocals with Cyrus’s parts recorded at Chateau Marmont in L.A. Give it a listen below.

A 7″ single will be released by XL and Drag City after the digital launch. It features “Porcupine Tattoo” and another song called “Norm,” which is dedicated to Norm Macdonald. Russell had previously used Callahan’s “I’m New Here” for a Gil-Scott Heron tribute album. Over the past year, he has also put out several albums named after solstices and equinoxes.

Fans love seeing unique collaborations like this one!
