Cass McCombs just dropped a surprise album called Seed Cake on Leap Year.
You can listen to it now online, but if you want a vinyl or CD version, you’ll have to wait until November 8. This album is special because it’s made up of songs he recorded back in 1999 and 2000 at his friend Jason Quever’s place in San Francisco when he was living in Berkeley.
To mark the release, McCombs put out three new music videos for “Anchor Child,” “Baby,” and “I’ve Played This Song Before.” His friends filmed these videos, and Michelle Yoon edited them all together.
Seed Cake on Leap Year comes after the reissues of his older albums Not the Way, A, and Prefection, which were released on September 6.
Fans love how artists keep surprising us with new content!
Starting next week, McCombs will be touring North America. He’ll be performing in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Baltimore, among others. Some shows will feature opening acts by Papercuts and Advance.
