Chance the Rapper finally announced that his new album, Star Line, is dropping on August 15.
After so much waiting and random hints, he’s not just giving us a date—he’s also letting everyone see the cover art, which was designed by Brandon Breaux, the same artist who did the covers for 10 Day, Acid Rap, and Coloring Book, but not The Big Day, which is kind of wild if you think about it. This almost feels like a homecoming for the two of them, teaming up again after skipping a whole album together. Star Line has been called Star Line Gallery in the past, but now it’s got its real name and a real release date, so it’s actually happening.
Earlier this month, Chance dropped “Tree,” the first single from the album, and he worked with DexLvl on the production, which probably means the sound is going to be a little different this time.
Fans think this album might be really special because the old crew is back together.
By the way, Coloring Book was ranked No. 6 in “The 50 Best Albums of 2016,” which is pretty impressive. Sometimes, when you wait so long for something, it’s hard to believe it’s actually coming, but here we are, counting down the days.
