Charli XCX was recently featured in a New York article by Brock Colyar, where she hinted at some exciting new music and projects.
The interview revealed that Charli had a late night in the studio with Bon Iver and Danielle Haim, leaving her feeling quite dehydrated the next morning. She mentioned working on an upcoming film with Jeremy O. Harris and teased another major project that’s “definitely in the bratosphere.”
It’s interesting to note that Charli XCX and Danielle Haim have worked together before on the song “Warm” from Charli’s album Charli. Though neither has teamed up musically with Bon Iver yet, Danielle has expressed her wish to collaborate with Justin Vernon.
“I kind of want to get on the phone with Bon Iver,” she said in a 2020 chat. “I heard he has an amazing studio in Wyoming. I’ve met him maybe once or twice.” (She was probably talking about his April Base studio in Wisconsin.)
She added, “Yeah, we’ve never done a record in the woods. Bon Iver, we want to road trip to your compound.”
A few years later, it seems like that dream came true because Jim-E Stack shared a picture of Danielle and Vernon recording together at April Base.
Fans always love these unexpected collaborations!
This year, Charli XCX dropped some cool remixes like “Girl, So Confusing Featuring Lorde” and “Guess Featuring Billie Eilish,” following her album Brat.
