Dan Deacon brought his own wild twist to the national anthem before the Orioles played the Mets on July 10.
Instead of the usual version, he played an electronic take on “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and honestly, it seemed to charge up the Orioles, because they ended up winning 7-3 against the Mets. You can catch the whole thing on Instagram, and there are some cool pictures floating around too.
Even though Dan hasn’t dropped a regular album since Mystic Familiar in 2020, he’s been pretty active making music for movies and TV, and he just released the soundtrack for Venom: The Last Dance last October.
Fans think it’s awesome when hometown artists show up for their teams.
Oh, and remember last year? Turnstile got to toss the first pitch at an Orioles game, which was such a fun moment.
Sometimes I wonder if the Orioles play better when someone from Baltimore is in the spotlight, or maybe that’s just a weird coincidence.
