Daniel Blumberg Releases Songs from The Brutalist Soundtrack

Daniel Blumberg has created the music for Brady Corbet’s new film, The Brutalist, and he’s announced when the soundtrack will be available.

The soundtrack, featuring 32 tracks, drops on December 13 through Milan Records with three “Overture” pieces leading the way. Blumberg shared that he and Brady wanted continuous music for the film’s first ten minutes, with scenes shot and choreographed to his early demos. The “Overture” brings in key musicians like John Tilbury, Sophie Agnel, Simon Sieger on piano; Axel Dörner on trumpet; Evan Parker on saxophone—mixing everything from loud brass sounds to soft piano tunes. He aimed for a dizzying experience that pulls you straight into the movie.

Fans think this kind of creativity is what makes movies so magical.

Blumberg also scored Gyuto with Corbet before diving into film scoring with Mona Fastvold’s The World to Come in 2020.

Once part of Yuck until 2013, Blumberg saw the band dissolve in 2021 after their debut album and two more records without him. As a solo artist, he released three albums: Minus, On&On, and Gut.

The Brutalist, starring famous faces like Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones among others, premiered at Venice Film Festival and hits U.S. theaters on December 20th.
