Danny L Harle just spilled all the details about his new project, Cerulean, announcing it as his next big milestone since Harlecore dropped back in 2021.
Harle’s bringing some pretty well-known friends along for this one, with music coming out on February 13 through XL, and listeners can spot names like Caroline Polachek, PinkPantheress, and Clairo showing up on different tracks. He’s totally calling Cerulean his “debut studio album,” even saying, “It really is the big one.” The record draws inspiration from all sorts of wild places, like that trippy film Stalker by Tarkovsky, Glass’ Einstein on the Beach, and even the challenging game series Dark Souls (which, honestly, can fry your brain after a few hours).

“Crystallise My Tears” actually isn’t the first taste of the album—there’s already been “Starlight” and “Azimuth,” which got people excited fast. Harle described working with Oklou as easy and natural: “I simply sent the song over to her; she nailed the vocal and sent it back. We didn’t have to share many words as we love very similar things about music. She has a particular ability to convey emotion through tone, and I really feel it in this one, there is a surreal alien beauty to her delivery.” Then, about MNEK, Harle didn’t hold back, calling him “the king of UK house” and saying, “I am honoured to have the king of UK house grace the most house-adjacent track on my album with such a soaring and emotional vocal.”
