On June 18, Julien’s Auctions and TCM will hold a live auction in Gardena and online, offering more than 450 objects from David Lynch’s world.
Anyone interested can try to win Lynch’s own 35mm Eraserhead reel, his director’s chair, the mysterious Black Lodge curtain and rug from Twin Peaks, props from both Mulholland Drive and Twin Peaks: The Return, and even his beloved La Marzocco espresso machine, plus a heap of other quirky treasures. The event, called The David Lynch Collection, is packed with items straight from Lynch’s home—his record stash, his guitar, and some seriously cool decor that looks like it belongs in one of his movies.
“Julien’s and TCM are honored to represent and offer to the public for the first time this incredible collection of one of the greatest and most revered filmmakers of all time, David Lynch,” Catherine Williamson shared in the official statement. “These historical and cherished pieces reflecting David Lynch’s singular artistic vision, as well as his passions and pursuits ranging from his director’s chair, espresso machine to his guitar, record collections and Twin Peaks style decor, come directly from the home of the visionary artist whose enigmatic films stirred our most imaginative and collective surreal dreams.”
Sometimes people just want to own something that reminds them of their favorite artist.
Lynch, who passed away in January at 78, left behind more than just movies—he shaped the word “Lynchian” itself, which people use whenever things feel both weird and dreamy at once. Besides directing, he made music, acted, painted, and even directed music videos. His last album, Cellophane Memories, was made with Chrystabell and came out in 2024.
