Destroyer just dropped a fresh video for the last track on Dan’s Boogie, “Travel Light.”
A dim room with Dan Bejar tapping out piano melodies sets the mood, while outside, nighttime highways, truck stops, and big trucks roll by on screen, making everything feel a bit dreamy and lost; the video’s vibe totally matches the lyrics, all about wanting to go somewhere new. Later this month, Dan and his seven bandmates will take these songs across North America, starting September 23 in Eugene and wrapping up October 26 in Vancouver, with Jennifer Castle and Cass McCombs popping in to open on some nights.
Earlier this year, in May, Bejar showed up on Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney to play “Travel Light” live, and Jessica Pratt was there too, sitting close before she sang “World on a String” from her 2024 album Here in the Pitch.
Fans always get excited when artists perform together on TV, especially when it’s two people they really like.
Dan’s Boogie is the follow-up to the 2022 album Labyrinthitis, and the new record also features tracks like “Hydroplaning Off the Edge of the World,” “Bologna,” plus the super long “Cataract Time” that lasts eight minutes.
