Duendita, the soul singer from Queens, is releasing a new EP called The Mind Is a Miracle on September 27.
Her latest song “Born With Power” was made with Noah Becker and Paul Wilson, and there’s even a video by Ameer Kazmi that you can watch. The idea for “Born With Power” came to her while touring in Europe. She started working on it with Becker back in the States. “Working in headphones in the living room of our Airbnb while our friends watched Squid Game, we made ‘Born With Power,’” she said. They first performed it live just days later, which helped shape the final version. When they returned to New York, Paul Wilson added piano to the track, making it even better. Editing it was super fun for her because everyone collaborated so much.
This year, she dropped another single called “Planetary” along with a video directed by Sandy Ismail. That song and “Feel,” a collaboration with Joy Guidry, will also be part of the new EP.
In 2021, she put out two singles: “Open Eyes” and “Bio.” Recently, Jamila Woods asked her to work on “Tiny Garden” for her album Water Made Us. She also teamed up with Wiki on his project Half God.
