Fever Ray just revealed a brand new live album called The Year of the Radical Romantics, which is dropping on July 25 with Mute.
This album was put together using recordings from the There’s No Place I’d Rather Be Tour, which happened while they were celebrating Radical Romantics in 2023. There’s a fresh track out too: “Now’s the Only Time I Know (Therapy Session),” and it comes with a video made by Martin Falck that continues the story from the “I’m Not Done (Therapy Session)” video. You can check out the video down below.
Songs on The Year of the Radical Romantics are actually new versions of music from all three Fever Ray albums: Radical Romantics, Plunge from 2017, and the self-titled Fever Ray from 2009. Karin Dreijer and Martin Falck also put together a special zine for this release, which shows off early drawings of the Radical Romantics characters, plus some cool behind-the-scenes tour photos by Nina Andersson.
Fans think the idea of a zine with sketches and photos is really cool.
Sometimes, it’s easy to get distracted and think about how much work goes into putting all this together—like, do they ever sleep, or do creative people just run on coffee and weird dreams?
If you want, you can revisit the profile called “Fever Ray’s Voices of Desire.”
