The Carpenter’s Son just dropped its first teaser, and FKA twigs appears as Mary while Nicolas Cage steps in as Joseph.
This film, brought to life by Lofty Nathan, also features Noah Jupe as Jesus, but instead of using his name, the story calls him “the Boy.” No one knows the exact date, but the movie is coming out in the fall. The trailer gives us a quick look at both FKA twigs and Cage, and things look pretty intense already.
Last year, when people first heard about the film, they learned it’s about a family hiding in Roman Egypt, trying to stay out of sight. The Boy, who starts to question everything after meeting a strange kid, pushes back against the Carpenter and soon finds out he has special powers and a wild destiny he can hardly imagine. As he taps into his abilities, the family ends up facing all sorts of terrifying things—some from nature, some that seem almost supernatural.
Fans love it when movies mix old stories with creepy twists.
FKA twigs has been busy—she was just in The Crow remake with Bill Skarsgård, and she’s got a new album called Eusexua Afterglow coming up soon. Her team says it’s a full album that follows up on Eusexua, so there’s lots to be excited about.
