Foo Fighters just dropped a surprise live EP called Are Playing Where ???? Vol. 1, which was recorded at a bunch of secret shows they did in September.
All the money from this release on Bandcamp is going to help people who don’t have enough food in San Luis Obispo, Santa Ana, Washington, D.C., and New Haven, since that’s where the band played those special gigs. If you want to check out Are Playing Where ???? Vol. 1, you can listen to it right now.
After But Here We Are came out in 2023, things changed for the band—Taylor Hawkins wasn’t there anymore, and that was a big deal because he passed away in 2022. Then, Josh Freese, who had taken over on drums, left, and Ilan Rubin from Nine Inch Nails stepped in; funny enough, Freese went to play with Nine Inch Nails after that.
Fans sometimes wonder what it’s like for the band to keep moving forward after so much change.
Recently, Foo Fighters did a cover of “I Don’t Wanna Hear It” by Minor Threat, and they also put out “Today’s Song,” which is their first brand new track since But Here We Are dropped.
By the way, “Everlong” landed at number 69 on the list of “The 250 Best Songs of the 1990s.”
