Geese just became the first group to perform on From the Basement after a super long break.
When From the Basement returned this year, Geese gave everyone a show by playing for about 35 minutes, picking tunes from their album Getting Killed—Cameron Winter did not disappoint! The famous live studio series, brought to life by Nigel Godrich, originally aired back in 2006 and continued to 2009, but then it disappeared until it came back in 2022 with new energy and fresh acts like Squid, Idles, and Caribou. The last time we saw anyone on Godrich’s stage was Nilüfer Yanya, so Geese’s set felt like a brand new start.
It’s kinda funny to think about how shows just vanish and then suddenly pop up again years later with a whole different vibe—you never know what’s coming next.
Geese haven’t slowed down at all since Getting Killed dropped in September; they even made a wild video for “Au Pays du Cocaine.” They also visited BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for a classic cover: “You Get What You Give” by the New Radicals.
Fans always get nervous before a band plays a live set like this, wondering if it’ll live up to the hype.
