Harmony, also known as Girlpool’s Harmony Tividad, is set to release her debut solo album titled Gossip on October 11 through her own label, Harmony’s Fantasy Corp.
The album will feature tracks like “Thot Daughter,” “Miss America,” and “Coke and Mentos,” along with a fresh song named “No Romeo.” She not only directed but also styled and edited the video for "No Romeo," drawing inspiration from Gossip Girl, Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, and Moulin Rouge. Check out the video below.
Harmony collaborated with producers Bamster, Wyatt Bernard, Ryan Raines, and Ruben Radlauer from Model/Actriz on this project. She mentioned that "Gossip is an exploration of different angles of virtue," adding that she wanted to play with the idea of goodness. Observing various people around her led to reflections on judgment. Some characters in her songs are close friends; others are just acquaintances. Some traits she describes even reflect parts of herself that she finds challenging. By exploring shame and what she considers ugly aspects within herself, she’s trying to shed light on them with compassion. "I’ve dealt with moral scrupulosity for a lot of my life," she said, noting how everyone’s definition of goodness varies.
Fans sometimes find it hard to understand why bands break up or go solo.
In summer 2022, Harmony and Avery Tucker decided to end Girlpool after releasing their final album Forgiveness. The following year saw Harmony dropping her first solo EP called Dystopia Girl.
