Johnny Marr and James are hitting the road together for a North American tour, kicking off as summer waves goodbye. They’re planning to make stops in big cities like New York and Los Angeles, not to mention Chicago, Toronto, and a handful of others. It’s gonna be a coast-to-coast adventure.
Back in ’85, Marr and his fellow Mancunians opened for the Smiths on the Meat Is Murder tour. Marr reminisced, saying, “We admired them and even covered one of their tracks. I’ve been rooting for them ever since. Hitting the road together after all these years feels pretty special.”
James’ lead, Tim Booth, shared his memories too. “That tour in ’85? It was a game-changer for us. Their kindness really left its mark. And now, sharing the stage with Johnny Marr, a true genius and gent, is both an honor and a thrill. We’re pumped to create some magic.”
