Jónsi is set to release his new album, First Light, on August 30.
The Sigur Rós frontman has given fans a taste of what’s coming with two tracks, “Flicker” and “Cherry Blossom.” Originally meant to be the soundtrack for a video game, this album was created in collaboration with Myndstream and Lakeshore. Jónsi shared in a press release that creating this music during times of global chaos made him envision First Light as an ideal world filled with peace and harmony. He wanted it to be a place where beauty triumphs over chaos and hope conquers fear, guided by angelic guardians who unite us all through love and music.
