Juana Molina Announces New Album & Releases Song Siestas Ahí

Juana Molina has something new on the way, and it’s called Doga.

After a long break since Halo in 2017, she’s finally sharing fresh music, starting with the song “Siestas Ahí,” which she made together with Emilio Haro—go ahead and listen if you’re curious. The cover art for the album is out as well, and it’s pretty interesting to look at. Doga will drop on November 5, and she’s releasing it through her own label, Sonamos.

Back in 2019, while getting ready for some improv shows with Odín Schwartz, she started dreaming up ideas for this album. “The idea was to play as if I were at home, that is, to improvise,” Juana said, explaining how she and Odín used analog synths and sequencers, recording everything because each session was totally one-of-a-kind. She picked up those old recordings again in 2022 and 2024, and then finished things off with Emilio Haro’s help.

Fans really love when artists improvise like that, because you never know what you’ll get.

Here’s the tracklist for Doga:

01 Uno Es Arbol
02 La Paradoja
03 Desinhumano
04 Caravanas
05 Siestas Ahí
06 Indignan a un Zorzal
07 Va Rara
08 Miro Todo
09 Intringulado
10 Rina Soi

Sometimes, when you listen to a new album, it feels like opening a weird, mysterious present.
