Bon Iver just dropped a fresh video for the song “From”, and it kicks off with Justin Vernon juggling two jobs at once—he’s both the limo driver and the divorce lawyer, which sounds like a lot to handle.
This video, directed by Asher Weisberg, is kind of fuzzy and old-school looking, and shows Vernon cruising around in a super long, white Cadillac limo. He picks up couples who just got married, hands out donuts and beer, and gives out advice while grinning like he’s got all the answers. Sometimes the best rides come with snacks and random wisdom.
“From” isn’t just Vernon doing everything himself. There’s extra guitar from Mk.gee, and Jacob Collier jumps in with vocals. As a fun twist, Vernon wants people to call 1-888-FROM-BON and leave a message. He and Weisberg will actually listen and reply to some of them, which is pretty cool if you want to hear back from your favorite musician.
Fans wonder what it would be like to ride in that limo and eat donuts with Justin Vernon.
This is already the fourth single from the SABLE, fABLE album, which is Bon Iver’s fifth big release since i,i in 2019. Before this, “If Only I Could Wait” and “Walk Home” dropped in March, and the very first single, “Everything Is Peaceful Love,” got its own video directed by John Wilson back in February. The rest of the album has even more guests, like Danielle Haim, Dijon, Flock of Dimes, and others, so there’s a lot going on.
Sometimes, music videos make you wish you could just jump into the screen and join the adventure.
