Kesha just released her new song “Joyride,” marking her first single of 2024 and her debut on Kesha Records.
Check out the lyric video below, which she first performed live in June at Brooklyn’s Planet Pride. She teamed up with Zhone and Madison Love to write this track.
“Joyride” is a big deal for Kesha because it represents her newfound freedom after ending a tough relationship with Kemosabe, Dr. Luke’s label. Her albums Rainbow, High Road, and even the latest one, Gag Order, were all released under that label along with RCA. They settled their long legal battle last year after she accused him of assault back in 2014. This song marks the beginning of a new chapter for her.
Kesha will be headlining Philadelphia’s Wawa Welcome America Festival tonight. Later this summer, she’s performing at Lollapalooza and Mexico City’s Festival Hera HSBC.
I think it’s awesome when artists take control of their own music.
