Lady Gaga Performs Vanish Into You on Colbert

Lady Gaga took the stage on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Monday night, just after her wild VMAs show.

Instead of her usual big costumes, Gaga sat at the piano in a plain black dress and sang “Vanish Into You” from Mayhem, with only two guitar players beside her, making everything feel calm and a bit mysterious. The night before, she had been the top nominee at the VMAs with 12 chances to win and walked away with Artist of the Year, Best Collaboration for “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars, and also snagged awards for “Abracadabra” in both Best Direction and Best Art Direction, though Ariana Grande’s “Brighter Days Ahead” ended up taking Video of the Year.

During the VMAs, Gaga gave the crowd two big performances: “Abracadabra” and “The Dead Dance,” her fresh track for Netflix’s Wednesday.

Fans think it’s cool how she can be super dramatic one night and then totally chill the next.

Mayhem is her first album in half a decade, and she’s traveling across North America, hitting places like Toronto and Chicago before heading off to Europe and Australia to keep the tour going until the year wraps up.

Sometimes when people go to concerts, they hope their favorite songs make the setlist, but Gaga always surprises everyone.
