Lorde just dropped a fresh track called Man of the Year from her album Virgin.
A brand new music video, made by Grant Singer, is out for the song, and you can check it out below if you want. Not long ago, Lorde posted a simple note online, saying, “Man Of The Year. An offering from really deep inside me. The song I’m proudest of on Virgin.” The album Virgin was made with Jim-E Stack, and there’s also work from Daniel Nigro, Fabiana Palladino, Andrew Aged, Buddy Ross, and Devonté Hynes from Blood Orange. Last month, the first single, “What Was That,” came out and people are still talking about it.
It’s kind of wild how Lorde is already getting ready for a world tour for Virgin, and a bunch of cool artists will be opening for her, like Blood Orange, the Japanese House, Nilüfer Yanya, Chanel Beads, Empress Of, Jim-E Stack, and Oklou.
Fans think it’s awesome when artists keep surprising us with new stuff.
After Solar Power came out in 2021, Lorde didn’t just stop; she kept sharing music videos, like for “Oceanic Feeling” and “The Path.” She even made an EP where she sang Solar Power songs in Māori, which was pretty unexpected and special.
