Lucrecia Dalt is dropping her new album called A Danger to Ourselves on September 5.
There’s a track on it named “Divina,” and Tony Lowe made the video for that one, which you can check out below, plus there’s “Cosa Rara,” where David Sylvian joins in—not just singing, but also helping produce the whole thing, which is pretty neat. The album also brings in Juana Molina and Camille Mandoki for some cool features, and you’ll hear Alex Lázaro’s drum loops in the mix. Here’s the full list of songs, so you know what’s coming up: “Cosa Rara” with David Sylvian, “Amorcito Caradura,” “No Death No Danger,” “Caes” with Camille Mandoki, “Agüita con Sal,” “Hasta el Final,” “Divina,” “Acéphale,” “Mala Sangre,” “The Common Reader” with Juana Molina, “Stelliformia,” “El Exceso Según CS,” and “Covenstead Blues.”
Dalt shared a bit about her inspiration, saying, “In the past, I often turned to movies and texts as mirrors to shape my stories, guiding me away from revealing too much from within, inventing isolated fictions. This time, I wanted to create music that flows cinematically and sets a landscape to tell a love story that flirts with improbability, the miraculous and the mysterious.”
Fans think it’s exciting when artists try something new.
Sometimes, when you look at a tracklist, it feels like reading a secret map, and the names make you wonder what the songs will sound like—“Mala Sangre” could be spooky, or maybe “Covenstead Blues” is a little sad or magical. There’s just something about new music that makes people want to stay up late, headphones on, imagining what’s next.
