Margo Price Announces New Album & Releases Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down Video

Margo Price is dropping a brand-new album called Hard Headed Woman at the end of August.

This time around, she’s teamed up again with Matt Ross-Spang, the same producer who helped her create Midwest Farmer’s Daughter and All American Made. The album includes some cool duets, too—expect to hear both Tyler Childers and Jesse Welles joining her voice on a couple tracks. The first single, “Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down,” already has a music video out, so you can watch it now if you want.

“I always hope to do like Johnny Cash did, which is speak up for the common man and woman,” Price shared. “But there have been so many threats and anger and vitriol over the years, when I am only coming from a place of love. So I made the decision to rebuild everything from the ground up. I hope this album inspires people to be fearless and take chances and just be unabashedly themselves, in a culture that tries as hard as it can to beat us into all being the same.”

Fans think it’s awesome when artists try new things and don’t just copy what’s popular.

The tracklist for Hard Headed Woman is pretty interesting, with songs like “Prelude (Hard Headed Woman),” “Red Eye Flight,” “Don’t Wake Up” (which has Jesse Welles), “Love Me Like You Used to Do” (featuring Tyler Childers), and even “I Just Don’t Give a Damn.” There’s also a song called “Kissing You Goodybe,” which, honestly, sounds like it could make someone cry or at least eat a lot of ice cream.

Sometimes, when I look at song titles, I wonder if the artist was hungry or just feeling wild that day.
