Mark Pritchard and Thom Yorke will drop their first album together, Tall Tales, tomorrow.
To remind everyone about the release, they just put out a new video for “The Spirit,” which is the main track on the album and probably the most memorable one. The video, made by Jonathan Zawada, shows a skeleton that looks like it’s doing gymnastics while carrying shiny souls over a digital ocean. Zawada has actually made all the weird short films for their previous singles, so he’s kind of like their unofficial third bandmate. The video is pretty wild—honestly, it’s hard to look away!
Before Tall Tales was even announced, everyone got to hear “Back in the Game,” and after that, they released “This Conversation Is Missing Your Voice” and “Gangsters.” But if you go back even further, Pritchard and Yorke teamed up for “Beautiful People” in 2016, which was on Pritchard’s Under the Sun.
People think it’s cool when artists keep working together and try new things.
Oh, and here’s something random: Zawada didn’t just handle the music videos—he also created a whole animated movie to go with the album, and it’s actually showing in movie theaters today.
