Max Richter is marking a decade since Sleep came out with something new: Sleep Circle and a pair of special concerts in London.
This time, the music is designed to help people float into dreams, just like the original, but instead of eight hours, it’s only 90 minutes—about as long as it takes to go through one REM sleep cycle; there’s even a new track, “Dream 11 / Moth-Like Stars (Pt. 2),” that you can listen to right now if you want, and the full album drops September 5 with Deutsche Grammophon. The concerts are happening at Alexandra Palace on September 5 and 6, and they’ll bring back the all-night experience that started when Sleep was first released in 2015, except this time, the crowd will be bigger than ever.
Fans sometimes wish they could just lie down at a concert and nap while listening to music.
