On December 17, Megan Thee Stallion asked a court in Los Angeles for a restraining order against Tory Lanez.
She says that even though Lanez is locked up for shooting her in 2020 and got a 10-year sentence, he’s still bothering her from prison by using other people to spread lies. There’s going to be a court meeting on January 9 to talk about this order. Megan’s lawyers claim that phone records from the prison show Lanez is behind these attacks on her character. They say some bloggers are spreading fake stories online for him, like saying the gun and bullet pieces have vanished.
“Even now, while behind bars, Mr. Peterson shows no signs of stopping,” reads the petition. It mentions how an old protective order has expired, leaving room for more trouble.
Fans believe it’s really sad when someone can’t just let things go and keeps causing pain even after being punished.
After fighting in court with Lanez for three years until it ended in 2023, Megan shared her thoughts in Elle. “It was a victory for every woman who has ever been shamed, dismissed, and blamed for a violent crime committed against them,” she expressed. She sees herself as someone who survived something terrible because not only did she live through being shot by someone she trusted but also managed to stay strong despite all the public shame he caused her .
