Miley Cyrus is getting ready to drop her ninth album, Something Beautiful, at the end of this month.
There’s a brand new single out called “More to Lose,” which comes after “Prelude,” “Something Beautiful,” and “End of the World,” all from the same album; Miley worked on this track with Autumn Rowe and Michael Pollack, and she even helped direct the music video with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. The song’s sound came together with a team including Pollack, BJ Burton, Shawn Everett, and Jonathan Rado from Foxygen, plus musicians like bassist Pino Palladino and Drew Erickson added their own magic to the mix. The video is already up for everyone to watch.
Something Beautiful is coming out May 30 on Columbia, following up last year’s Endless Summer Vacation. There’s also a movie to go with the album, which Miley made with Bixenman and Walter too, and it’s hitting theaters in June. She once said this album is kind of like Pink Floyd’s The Wall, but “with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture.”
Fans sometimes wonder if Miley’s new stuff will be as wild as her old music.
