Oneohtrix Point Never Announces Tranquilizer Album & New Songs

Daniel Lopatin just shared that a fresh Oneohtrix Point Never album called Tranquilizer will be released digitally on November 17, and you can get physical copies a few days later, on November 21, through Warp.

You can already check out the first three songs—“For Residue,” “Bumpy,” and “Lifeworld”—from the album right now. Lopatin described Tranquilizer as “a record shaped by commercial audio construction kits from a bygone era—an index of cliches turned inside out.” He also said, “It is a return to a process-oriented form of music making for me that I felt best evoked a certain kind of madness and ennui in the heart of culture today.” Seems like he’s been experimenting with old sounds in a totally new way.

After dropping Again in 2023, Lopatin went on to create the score for Josh Safdie’s latest movie, Marty Supreme, which stars Timothée Chalamet and is coming to theaters in the U.S. on December 25.

Fans think it’s cool when artists try something weird and different.

Here’s the full tracklist for Tranquilizer if you’re curious:
