Patti Smith Ends Show Early Due to Post-Migraine Dizziness

On Wednesday night, Patti Smith assured everyone she was “fine” after a stage mishap in Brazil.

During her presentation at São Paulo’s Cultura Artística Theater, Patti fainted about half an hour into her talk on climate change. She had to stop the show early but came back to apologize. “Unfortunately, I got sick, and the doctor said I can’t finish,” she shared with the audience. “So we will have to figure something out. And I feel very badly.” Then, without any music, she sang “Wing” and “Because the Night.”

Patti later explained that it was just a bit of dizziness from a migraine and reassured fans: “I was checked out by an excellent doctor and was absolutely fine.” She urged people not to believe exaggerated stories circulating online. With so much happening in the world, this small incident doesn’t deserve much attention.

The Soundwalk Collective group also shared on Instagram how grateful Patti felt for everyone’s understanding and love during her two-day “Correspondences” project in São Paulo.

Fans sometimes worry too much when things like this happen.

This is
letting everyone know
that I am fine. A grossly
exaggerated account is
being spread by the press
and social media. I had
some post migraine dizziness.
Had a small incident, left the
stage, and returned 10 minutes
later and talked to the people,
told them I was fine and sang
them Wing and Because the night.
I was checked out by an excellent
Doctor and was absolutely fine.
Please do not accept any other story .
With all the strife in the world,
this explainable incident does not merit so much attention.
Thank you everyone for your concern.Trust me I am fine.
