Pharrell Williams just dropped a bombshell – he’s teamed up with the Lego Group for a biopic. Titled “Piece by Piece,” it’s not your run-of-the-mill flick. The press release calls it “an unparalleled motion picture experience,” highlighting Pharrell’s creative spark, one Lego brick at a time.
The hype doesn’t stop there. This film is set to shatter expectations, whisking audiences away to a Lego universe where dreams have no limits. Mark your calendars – “Piece by Piece” premieres on October 11, 2024.
Williams isn’t flying solo on this project; he’s got Focus Features in his corner. The man behind the camera? Morgan Neville, a name that carries weight. The production squad includes Tremolo Productions’ Caitrin Rogers and the team from I Am Other – Williams himself, Mimi Valdés, and Shani Saxon. And from the Lego fortress, executive producers Jill Wilfert and Keith Malone bring their A-game.
“When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through Lego bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Morgan. He is a legend,” Williams said in a press release. “Grateful that Focus wanted to collaborate with us, and I’m honored to share this with the world and bring people into my universe. Building with Lego bricks encourages us to follow our imagination… who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life.
