Robyn Releases First New Song in Seven Years

Robyn sent fans into a frenzy with a simple message on Instagram yesterday, hinting, “keep your eyes open…”, and attaching a link for her mailing list.

Big news followed: after seven years, she revealed a new song is coming soon—it’s called “Dopamine” and drops this Wednesday, November 12.

Way back in September, Klas Åhlund chatted on Nordmark Pod and dropped a cool bombshell. The quote? “Just finished a new Robyn album that’s coming out. Super exciting! Very proud of it.” (That’s from Swedish, by the way.)

We usually get nervous right before new music, but waiting for Robyn just feels electric sometimes.

She hasn’t put out a solo album since 2018’s Honey, though you’ve probably heard her voice with all sorts of artists: SG Lewis, Neneh Cherry, Jamie xx, Smile, Jónsi, and even Yung Lean on Charli XCX’s “360” remix from Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat.

If anyone remembers, Honey made the list at No. 71 on “The 200 Best Albums of the 2010s.” Some music just sticks.
