Scooter Braun Leaves Music Management

It’s been 23 years.

Back when I was just 19, I started managing an artist named Cato in Atlanta, and that’s where my journey in the music industry began. Over these years, I’ve had experiences beyond my wildest dreams, feeling like Forrest Gump at times, witnessing and being part of the lives of incredibly talented people. Often, I find myself wondering how I got here.

Now, after all this time, my chapter as a music manager has closed.

This transition feels strange because I’ve wanted it for some time but feared losing my identity without it. Starting so young meant that being an artist manager became my whole adult life—24/7 dedication for two decades. But as my kids grew up and personal challenges arose, I realized they were the stars I couldn’t afford to lose. Sacrifices that once seemed worth it no longer did. It was time to embrace a new role.

I’m now honored to be a board member at Hybe and serve as CEO of Hybe America. Chairman Bang, who’s been my brilliant partner these past three years, has a vision I deeply believe in. More importantly, he’s become a true friend who understands that right now, my priority is being a father first and foremost.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve felt this change coming but only truly embraced it last summer when one of my biggest clients decided to take their career in a new direction. Instead of feeling hurt by this decision after working together for so long, I saw it as a sign from above guiding me toward this new path. Life doesn’t follow our plans; it follows God’s plan. And God has been steering me here for some time now.

I’ve seen friends like Andrew Watt win Grammys and watched Lil Dicky become DAVE with laughter and tears along the way . Tori Kelly won awards while acting in movies; J Balvin shattered boundaries; Demi showed immense kindness; Zac Brown Band waved our flag proudly; Martin Garrix amazed us with Animals; David Guetta and Steve Angello opened up new worlds; Carly Rae Jepsen made us dance with Call Me Maybe; PSY brought joy with Gangnam Style… The list goes on endlessly over these 23 years!

I remember moments vividly: Justin Bieber pranking everyone or Ariana Grande’s excitement before her first arena tour performance—they were teenagers then! Watching them grow into legends will always be one of my greatest honors even though our professional relationships may change now—I’ll cheer them on just like before!

People often wonder if taking high roads creates confusion about who we really are—sometimes ambiguity arises from staying silent amid success or attacks—but despite leaving management roles behind or altering business ties with clients doesn’t mean we’re disappearing altogether! Allison Kaye & Jennifer McDaniels have shown incredible leadership potential readying themselves towards leading women-managed businesses within this industry surpassing expectations entirely!

With Hybe continuing strong growth alongside acquisitions such as QC joining forces under HYBE America umbrella plus existing Big Machine ventures—we’re adding phenomenal executives/artists regularly onto rosters while celebrating platforms like WeVerse alongside expanding gaming units too! Last summer allowed me opportunities producing Jung Kook solo careers breaking records globally whilst collaborating BTS members achieving worldwide recognition further proving bright futures ahead through acts NewJeans/TXT/LE SSERAFIM/Seventeen/ILLIT/The Scarlet Opera/Ava Max among numerous others paving ways forward collectively ensuring multifaceted entertainment landscapes remain vibrant evermore!

I think it’s important for people to understand that sometimes unexpected changes lead us exactly where we need to be.

Apart from HYBE commitments focusing investments nurturing entrepreneurial spirits nationally supporting Make-A-Wish foundations via Braun Family Foundations coaching kids keeps life busy fulfilling simultaneously :)

So yes—it’s been quite an incredible journey spanning across decades closing chapters opening newer ones Berry Gordy wisely said ‘young man never ends wanted yet happens’ rings true indeed cherishing every moment embracing divine plans wholeheartedly cheers everyone!
