Snocaps Perform Coast on Fallon: Watch Now

The Crutchfield sisters kicked off their new band Snocaps’ very first live set last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with “Coast.”

Up there under the bright studio lights, Katie and Allison stood side by side, singing and riffing as the crowd listened, while MJ Lenderman, Brad Cook, and Colin Croom brought the music together on drums, bass, and guitar. Can you imagine starting a band and then your very first show is already on TV? Sometimes life is seriously unpredictable.

The Crutchfield twins dropped their debut Snocaps album out of nowhere just last month, and recorded it with their friends MJ and Brad (Cook does double duty from those Waxahatchee days), with everybody pitching in here and there. It’s wild to think how they went from P.S. Eliot to Bad Banana, then spun off into Waxahatchee and Swearin’, and now brought it right back to singing together again.

Fans can hardly wait for the tour.

Snocaps are about to hit the road for just seven nights, playing Chicago, LA, and New York, and no two opening acts are the same: you might see Bonny Doon, Cloakroom, Graham Hunt, Slippers, Mike Krol, Brennan Wedl, or Ryan Davis & the Roadhouse Band. That’s a pretty cool grab-bag for ticket holders.

Want to know what makes Waxahatchee’s album so special or why “Right Back to It” is up in the best songs of 2024? There are interviews and lists out there for deep-dive reading if you’re into music rabbit holes.
