Mad! dropped earlier this year, and now Sparks are back with a follow-up EP titled Madder!, releasing October 3 through Transgressive.
With the excitement from Mad! still buzzing, Sparks quickly returned to the studio, eager to keep the wild energy going. Ron and Russell Mael shared, “Not wanting the Mad!ness to end and buoyed by the phenomenal reaction to Mad!, we made a hasty but intense retreat to the studio to record a Sparks first: an EP. Madder!, a four-song companion piece to the album, is for everyone who isn’t yet Mad! enough. We hope these new songs will take you to an even Madder! place.”
Honestly, fans just want more Sparks music all the time.
The first track from the new EP, “Porcupine,” is out now if you want to check it out. The rest of the songs—“Fantasize,” “Mess Up,” and “They”—will all be on Madder! when it arrives.
Right before the EP lands, the band starts their North American tour for Mad! in Atlanta on September 5, wrapping everything up in Los Angeles at the end of the month.
