Guess what? SZA is dropping the deluxe version of SOS this Friday, and it might be called Lana.
For a while now, SZA has been hinting at this album, which could be named Lana, ever since she released SOS in December 2022. Last November, she told Variety that Lana would include some outtakes from SOS, along with fresh tracks. She explained it grew bigger than a typical deluxe release. “It was gonna be really soft, because I had made all my screaming points,” she shared, adding that she wanted to just relax and express things without overthinking—“I was so happy to say some shit that didn’t mean a fucking thing.” The name comes from an old tattoo when she couldn’t afford her full name Solána.
A little after chatting with Variety, SZA had to delay an Apple Music Live concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. She mentioned online that some tiny last-minute tweaks were necessary so the final product would truly represent what fans deserve. Only one song, “Saturn,” has been released since then. Soon she’ll team up with Kendrick Lamar for a tour.
