The War on Drugs Announce Drugcember Holiday Benefit Concerts

Once again, The War on Drugs are bringing back their special Drugcember to Remember concerts this year.

This December, the band is set to play at Johnny Brenda’s in Philly on the 18th, 19th, and 20th, where all the money from tickets will be given to the Fund for the School District of Philadelphia to help public schools. Every year since 2018, they’ve made this event something fans look forward to in December, and honestly, waking up super early to buy tickets on November 21 at 10 a.m. sounds both exciting and stressful at the same time.

They aren’t only putting on shows—there’s also cool, limited-edition Drugcember gear for sale from spots like Sacred Vice Brewing, Elixr Coffee, Room Shop, Uncle Ron’s Candles, and Kinetic Skateboarding/Nocturnal Skate Shop. These special collaborations are a fun way for fans to support local businesses and help raise even more money, plus you get to go home with something unique.

Fans always think it’s awesome when music can make a real difference in a city.

Adam Granduciel summed up the vibe perfectly when he said, “Another Drugcember to remember! This has been a year end highlight for me since we started doing it in 2018. Three rock shows at our old local hangout benefitting the Philadelphia school system. This band wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the vibrant Philadelphia community that has supported us since the beginning and we are very grateful for it.”

More recently, The War on Drugs dropped I Don’t Live Here Anymore in 2021, and just last year came out with Live Drugs Again, pieced together from old live recordings stretching back years. Their popularity sticks around, which is kinda wild, since albums like I Don’t Live Here Anymore keep making it onto big lists, like the one ranking the top albums of 2021.
