Timothée Chalamet & Tyler the Creator Star in Marty Supreme Trailer

Next month, Josh Safdie’s new movie Marty Supreme will finally be in theaters, with Timothée Chalamet and Tyler, the Creator leading the cast.

The latest trailer just dropped, showing Marty Mauser (played by Chalamet) laser-focused on climbing to the top of the table tennis world, and things look dramatic, funny, and kind of weird all at once. While you’re watching, catchy music from Daniel Lopatin (he’s worked with Safdie a lot) pumps in the background, making everything seem even more intense.

Joining them, there’s Gwyneth Paltrow, Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, plus some more faces, and the script comes from both Safdie and Ronald Bronstein—the same guy who lent his writing to Good Time and Uncut Gems. This time, Josh is working without his brother Benny, which hasn’t really happened since The Pleasure of Being Robbed in 2008.

The release day is locked for December 25, so right after unwrapping gifts, you could watch Chalamet take on his next big thing since he portrayed Bob Dylan earlier this year.

Tyler, the Creator has small roles all over TV and music videos, plus his own show Loiter Squad, but Marty Supreme gives him his first big part in a real movie—and people are pretty hyped to see what he’ll do with it. People probably remember his wild music videos too, especially “Sugar on My Tongue” from Don’t Tap the Glass.

Sometimes, fans just want to see famous people try something new.

Oh, and someone mentioned Tyler’s album Bastard landed at number 94 on “The 100 Best Rap Albums of All Time,” which is pretty cool, but, honestly, lists are weird sometimes.
