Underscores Releases New Song Do It with Official Video

Underscores just dropped a new track called “Do It,” and there’s a wild music video too.

Lights are everywhere, flashes bouncing off the walls, as Underscores and two dancers pull off sharp moves—the music’s so loud and punchy, it literally knocks people out of their seats when it blasts from a laptop. If you haven’t seen the clip, you probably should because it’s very not boring.

So, back when she was still a kid, April Harper Grey started making songs as Underscores, and in the years since, things got pretty big: three EPs, a debut album called Fishmonger in 2021, and a follow-up with 2023’s Wallsocket under Mom + Pop. With another album on the way (still keeping the name secret), “Do It” joins the lead single “Music,” which already dropped in July.

Fans get hyped every time something new comes out from Underscores.

This year, she’s been super busy working with others—for example, she’s on Umru’s track “Poplife,” also appears for a remix of Yaeji’s “Booboo” renamed “Booboo2” (Aliyah’s Interlude involved too), and lent her talents to Oklou’s “Harvest Sky” found on the recently expanded Choke Enough album.

“Night Out 2025: Pitchfork and Them’s Showcase for the Future of Queer Music” had some thoughts about Underscores, but that’s a whole different story in itself.
