Whitney just revealed they’ve got a brand new album called Small Talk coming out on November 7 through AWAL.
The first song from the album, “Dandelions,” is already out with a video made by Alexa and Jessica Viscius, and you can watch it below. Max and Julien, who lead the band, went through some rough breakups a few years ago when they almost moved far away for love, but it all fell apart. Julien said, “Over the span of a few months, both relationships somewhat abruptly crumbled, leaving us with equal parts confusion and sadness, mourning the futures that would have accompanied those relationships, as well as the relationships themselves.” That whole mess inspired the story behind “Dandelions,” which is about someone who tries city life but ends up back home in the Midwest.
People sometimes forget how much music can come from heartbreak, but it’s true.
This is Whitney’s fourth album, following Spark from 2022, and the new record also includes their recent song “Darling.” The band is busy on tour right now and won’t be stopping until the middle of August.
